Idli Oats with Tomato Chutney

1 ½ cups oats (quick cooking oats)

¾ cup semolina

2cups yoghurt

¾ tsp soda bi carbonate

1tsp salt

1tsp mustard seeds

1tsp chana dal

3 green chilies

¼ cup coriander leaves

2tbspolive oil


Dry roast oats on medium heat till it turns light brown-cool and grind and set aside. Dry roast semolina on medium heat and keep aside.

Mix ground oats and semolina along with salt and baking soda.

Heat oil, add mustard seeds and chana dal. When the dal begins to turn brownish add green chilies and sauté for a minute. Pour this oil mixture on the dry mixture of semolina and oats. Mix very well. Add in the yoghurt and coriander leaves.

Grease idli moulds and steam for about 8-10 minutes.

Serve with chutney and sambhar
